Warm Wood, Cold Forest — Architectural Rendering for a Norwegian architecture studio
Exterior, interior, people and motion in one set
A black timber cabin in a snow-laden Norwegian spruce forest, rendered inside and out — dozens of stills plus short animations, delivered in 4 weeks. The set runs from the glowing exterior at dusk to the plywood-lined rooms, empty and then populated with AI-generated people, so the studio could present the finished cabin to their client before the first winter booking.
Warm wood against a cold landscape
The brief was about contrast: charred black cladding and a snow-covered roof on the outside, pale birch plywood, black joinery and paper lantern lights on the inside. The client wanted to feel that shift the moment they looked at the images — from a dark, quiet forest to a bright, warm room. That meant covering the cabin from every angle, inside and out, before a single frame could be called finished.
A cabin, then a home
Once the empty rooms were locked, we generated a family of AI figures — reading by the window, gathered around the dining table, stepping in from the snow — and composited them into the existing scenes, matching pose, scale and lighting to each room. The same figures carried through into short looping animations, so the studio could show the cabin not just as a finished building but as a place people actually live in.
One evening, told many ways
Every still and every animation share the same winter evening: the pendant lights, the snow outside, the low light through the trees. Holding that light and mood constant across dozens of images is what let the studio present the whole project — building, interior, people, motion — as one coherent story rather than a pile of separate renders.
