Stacked Oak — 3D Furniture Rendering for a Sydney furniture workshop

Catalogue and campaign imagery from one model

Nine product renders and a looping hero animation of a solid oak armchair built from stacked blocks of timber, delivered in 2 weeks. Clean white-background catalogue shots for the online shop, a moody studio series under low raking light for the website and social, and a slow animation for the top of the workshop's new home page.

One chair, two ways of seeing it

The workshop needed images that could do two different jobs. The online shop called for clean, honest product shots on white — front, side, three-quarter — where nothing distracts from the proportions. The website and social channels needed something warmer: the chair as an object with presence, set against a textured olive backdrop and caught in late-afternoon light.

Built from oak, shown in oak

The chair is all joinery and grain — no upholstery, no hardware, nothing to hide behind. So the close-ups do most of the talking: the end grain where the armrest meets the leg, the flat-sawn figure across the seat, a shadow falling cleanly across a mitred corner. We lit each frame the way a still-life photographer would, letting the light explain the construction.

A hero that moves

For the home page, we turned the studio set into a slow, looping animation — light drifting across the chair as if the sun were moving through a window. It gives the site a calm first impression and shows the piece in the round before a visitor scrolls to a single still.
