Kai Nursery Collection — 3D Furniture Rendering for KAS Kopenhagen
One room scene and a full product set from one set of models
KAS Kopenhagen, a Danish nursery furniture brand, launched a new smoked oak finish for its Kai collection and needed images to match. With no usable 3D files to start from, we modelled the dresser and wardrobe from photos and technical drawings, built a children's room around the brand's own vision board, and then took the same models into a full white-background product set.
A new finish, and no 3D files to start from
The brief came from a new colour: the Kai collection was now available in smoked oak, and every image the brand had showed the old finishes. The manufacturer had no usable 3D models, only product photos. We modelled the dresser and wardrobe from those photos and the technical drawings KAS Kopenhagen sent over, and each piece was approved as a plain model on white, at a 45° angle, before any scene work began.
A room built to the brand's own vision board
KAS Kopenhagen sent a vision board: a Parisian interior with arched windows, herringbone floors and soft natural light. We built that room from scratch around the collection. Composition came first, as several greyscale layouts with no materials, so the team could choose the framing before anything was coloured. Smoked oak and a cream wardrobe were rendered side by side so they could decide between them on the image, and every round of feedback went onto a shared Miro board rather than into email.
From one room to a full product set
The room gave one full scene and close-ups of the bed, the dresser and the wardrobe. The same models then carried on to white: the wardrobe with its doors open, the bed at its different mattress heights so a shopper can see how it adjusts, the dresser with and without its changing top, and the changing top on its own. None of it needed a piece of furniture in front of a camera.
